December 8, 2018. Over 125 volunteer attended our 4th Annual Wreaths Across the Grove event. Some groups attending were Clan Irwin, Hogs & Heroes, Owen J Roberts Jr & Sr High Leo Club, Girl Scouts, Valley Forge Chapter of Freedoms Foundation and the 7th Engineer Battalion. Thank you to all who attended.
2018 Grove Enhancements
The Friends of the Grove began enhancements in the Grove. Through the kindness of a donor in 2017, flag poles and state and territory flags were added to each plaza. This summer volunteers added mulch to the ground plaques along the sidewalks. In the Fall trees and shrubs were planted. Here are some photos.

May 5th & 6th. The Freedoms Foundation was the location for the Military Living History Association’s 8th Annual WWII Reenactment Weekend.

November 30, 2018. Thank you to Moose Meadows forestry group for spending a day in the Grove chipping piles of branches and cutting down over 10 trees. We really appreciate your continued support!
October 17, 2018. Thank you to the Pennsauken NJ for bringing 50 student including JROTC Cadets from their new program. It was a beautiful day in the Grove and these students worked hard, learned about the Medal of Honor and helped the Friends immensely.
Oct. 6, 2018. Thank you to the over 100 people who came out in groups and with their families to clean the Grove. Obelisks were cleaned, over 90 plants were planted, branches and sticks were picked up and taken to the compost site, leaves were removed and ground plaques were installed. We can’t thank you enough. Groups that attended were PA Chapter Hogs & Heroes, OJRMS LEO Club, Valley Forge Military Academy, American Heritage Girls Troop, Phoenixville High School AFJROTC PA-20142, Coatesville High School PA-771 AFJROTC, CINTAS, Devon 50 Boy Scouts, AOH, VFW and many others. Special thanks to the Phoenixville VFW Post for kindly grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. We are very thankful to all of you.
Over 90 trees and shrubs were planted! Thank you to the Audubon Society for their guidance and instruction and the PA Chapter Hogs & Heroes, Valley Forge Military Academy, Civil Air Patrol, Coatesville JROTC and Phoenixville JROTC for planting!
September 11, 2018. Thank you to the Navy Chief and Chief Selects of Fort Dix, Lehigh Valley and Earle NJ for their awesome service day in the Grove. They helped realign ground plaques in CA and TX as well as washing obelisks and branch pickup.
April 21, 2018. Spring Cleanup was a wonderful day! We had over 80 volunteers remove branches and rake in appropriate areas. Thank you to the AOH, Carpenters Union, Travis Manion volunteers,Coatesville JROTC, Valley Forge Military Cadets, Hogs & Heroes, MOAA, DAV Chapter 25, Valley Forge VFW Post 7878 , American Legion Post 840, Boy Scouts, Phoenixville HS Students, Knights of Columbus, LOAH, Irish Thunder & other community members. Thank you to all who came out today. A special thank you to David Harmer, President & CEO of Freedoms Foundation for joining the cleanup and thanking everyone who worked.
April 17, 2018. Thank you to the Wells Fargo Veterans Team Network for doing their service day at Freedoms Foundation and in the Grove. This is their 2nd year here. We thank you! Special thanks to Bob Humes and Valley Forge VFW Post 7878 for supplying the water tank for washing the monuments.
